Maintenance and cleaning products for your hearing aids

Spray cleaner and disinfectant for hearing aids and earmolds

  • Use
    Using the spray cleaner and disinfectant every day significantly lowers the risk of infection and of repair fees for your hearing aids. It is easy to use and is suitable for cleaning your hearing aids.
  • Directions
    Spray a small amount of the cleaning and disinfectant solution onto a paper tissue and gently clean the hearing aids and/or earmolds. Never spray the product directly onto the hearing aids or immerse them in the product. Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Warnings
    C
    ontains cationic surfactants and mild cleansing agents. May irritate the eyes and skin. Toxic if ingested. If the product gets in the eyes, flush with clear water for at least 15 minutes and call a doctor. If the product gets on the skin, wash with soap and water. If the product soaks into clothing, remove and wash before wearing again. If the product is ingested, swallow egg whites or a gelatin solution. If these are not available, drink copious amounts of water. In all cases of ingestion, call a doctor immediately.
  • Ingredients
    Didecyldimethylammonium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, isopropanol, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, methylisothiazolinone.

Hearing aid dehumidifier

  • Use
    Using the dehumidifier once a week will eliminate the moisture and excessive sweat that can affect how your hearing aids function.
  • Directions
    Before going to bed, clean your hearing aids (and the earmolds if applicable) using the spray cleaner and disinfectant.
    Remove the batteries from the battery compartment.
    Place the hearing aids in the cup on the foam disk.
    Close the cover tightly. Let the dehumidifier run all night.
  • Warnings
    Never put hearing aids in a microwave or in a stove. Never pierce or open the capsule. Replace the capsule when it becomes pale. Each capsule lasts about 4 months.

    Silica gel

Blower bulb

  • Use
    A blower bulb pushes moisture and foreign bodies out of the earmold tubes.
  • Directions  
    Detach the earmold and tube from the hearing aid.
    Insert the nozzle of the bulb into the tube opening and squeeze to blow the moisture out.
    Reattach the earmold and tube.

Wax remover

  • Use
    A wax hook is used to gently remove earwax that has built up around the sound exit on your hearing aids. Used daily, this tool is essential for dislodging ear wax that can block sound and prevent your hearing aids from working properly, or working at all.
  • Directions
    Gently remove the visible ear wax from your hearing aids. If it doesn’t come off with gentle cleaning, ask for help from your audioprosthetist. Never use the wax hook at the microphone opening as it can cause permanent damage.

Mini brush

  • Use
    A mini brush is used daily to clean ear wax and other small particles from the outside of your hearing aids, specifically from the speaker and microphone openings.
  • Directions
    Lightly brush ear wax and debris from the surface of the hearing aids.

Glycerin-based lubrifying and moisturizing gel

  • Use
    Glycerin-based lubricant makes it easier to insert the hearing aids and earmolds into your ears and prevents irritation in the ear canal.
  • Directions
    Carefully apply a small amount of lubricant around the “canal” of the earmolds without getting it into the openings. For external use only. Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Ingredients
    Water, PPG-15 stearyl ether, glycerin, steareth-2, steareth-21, isopropyl myristate, stearic acid, cera alba (beeswax), PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, dipropylene glycol, fragrance, triethanolamine, acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, ethylhexylglycerin, Boswellia serrata gum.
