Hearing protection

Hearing protection: custom earplugs

Our hearing is fragile and an array of sounds in our environment can damage it irreversibly. Loud sounds have negative effects both in the short term and in the long term. They may increase fatigue, cause permanent deafness or lead to various health problems.

Fortunately, there are many types of hearing protection available to prevent such irrevocable damage and to protect your ears from noise assaults.

Noise-reduction hearing protection

Noise-reducing ear plugs are ideal for people regularly exposed to noisy situations. Custom made to fit each individual’s ear, these ear plugs are comfortable, easy to care for and long lasting. There are various types of noise-reducing ear plugs for different situations.

  • Unfiltered ear plugs

These custom-made ear plugs provide excellent protection from surrounding noise, but they make communication difficult. They are strongly recommended for industrial workers and users of loud power tools.

  • Filtered ear plugs

These ear plugs selectively reduce certain sounds while letting wearers talk to others and remain protected. The level of noise reduction can be adjusted based on each person’s needs. They are perfect for do-it-yourselfers, workers, hunters, motor-sports enthusiasts and people wanting to sleep more soundly.

Musician, singer and DJ ear plugs

  • Music protection

These ear plugs are made to measure and are ideal for musicians, singers and DJs. They are specially designed to provide exceptional sound quality while protecting the ears, making them an excellent choice for concerts, festivals and evenings of loud music. You can hear both music and speech without distortion because there is equal attenuation of all frequencies; only the music’s volume is reduced. They come in three reduction levels (9, 15, and 25 dB).

  • In-ear monitors

In-ear monitors are used by most musicians and singers during on-stage performances. They connect directly to the sound console using wireless technology, bringing the speakers right to your ears and eliminating the need for on-stage speakers. They deliver excellent sound quality while protecting your ears by reducing the sound by approximately 15 to 20 dB.

Hearing protection for swimming

Swimming ear plugs are great for water lovers. Whether for practicing water sports and activities or for long beach or pool outings, swimming ear plugs help you enjoy every minute without worry. Created to fit your ear canal, they are safe, soft, hypoallergenic and perfectly watertight. They may come with a cord keeping them together and are available in a range of colours from subtle to bright. Swimming ear plugs are also recommended for paracentesis, swimmer’s ear and after an ear operation.
